Let's Talk Books

If I haven’t already mentioned it, I am an avid reader.  I’m the girl with the book AND kindle in her purse.  How I became this? Not sure.  After reading the Hunger Games trilogy I’ve only really read chick novels, nothing with too much behind them and lately I’ve been craving a good, good book.  I WILL be reading the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy but I refuse to buy the first book since my sister already bought it, so I’m waiting.

I went on an Internet hunt this morning to find some books worth reading and came up with a pretty hefty list. I’m quite proud.

Said List:

What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
Sister by Rosamund Lupton
The Year We Left Home by Jean Thompson
Stiltsville by Susanna Daniel
I Wore the Ocean in the Shape of a Girl by Kelle Groom
Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls
One for the Money by Janet Evanovich (I want to read this whole serious // Plum Series)
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
Whistling in the Dark by Lesley Kagen
The Truth about Forever by Sarah Dessen
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton
The Last Child by John Hart

I found these books by searching for top books of 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.  I read Oprah’s recommended summer reading lists, amazon reviews and USA Today articles.

I still have my goal of 50 books to complete this year and actually have put a good little dent in it. Go me.

What are you reading? Have any suggestions for me?

  1. Have you already read Unbroken, by Laura Hillenbrand? I'm reading it right now and I am loving it. It's really intense, and kind of sad realizing that it's a true story. But I definitely can't put it down because I've gotten sucked in. Love it!
