It feels so rare these days that I hear a song and love it so much that I have to immediately download it and then listen to it on repeat for the next two weeks. This song does that for me though.

I love good music. Music that doesn't get overplayed on the radio. Music that speaks to my soul.

The seasons of my life can be brought back so quickly through songs. The words of the songs never really applied to my life directly, but I liked those songs and they brought me through to the next season.  In middle school it was Blink 182 and Eminem songs.  In high school it was Jack Johnson, Cartel and The Fray songs.  The first year of college it was Safety Suit songs.  Now, this tough season of my life, the one that I know I will get through one way or another, is this song.  This song is forever branded on my heart -- this will be my "I made it!" song.

What is your favorite song right now? {silent readers, show yourself, please! I'm getting all of these page views and I want to know who you are, I want to befriend you!}

If you're wondering how we're doing, we're doing good.  Minus the nasty bug that bit me and had me switching between chills and fever all night long, that wasn't so good. I never know what each day is going to bring, but I enter it prepared, I'm ready for what's to come. I'm continuously impressed with myself (in the least cocky way possible), how I'm doing this single mom thing, how I'm getting things done.  My baby is growing, I'm continuing to lose weight, we're going on daily walks, I'm not skipping out on school, I've stopped crying about having to leave Cooper to go to school, I'm making it. It's impressive to me.

Tomorrow's Friday. FinallyThankYouLordAmen.

  1. You ARE impressive girl!! And it does not come across as cocky in the least, because what you're doing? Well, it's hard. And you're doing it WELL. So that's dang impressive in my book :)

    I am the exacttt same way with music. I will listen to a song on repeat for days. (My poor roommates weren't a fan of that habit) And like you said, it's so fun to hear a blast from the past song and remember what state you were in when you were obsessed. And even better? How far you've come!

  2. Good for you, girl. Sounds like you're doing amazing:) One of my all-time faves is "June Hymn" by The Decemberists...I am not even sure I totally understand it, but it is so beautiful and calming and hope-inspiring every time I hear it.

  3. Also this one:

  4. You may be surprised you're doing it, but we never doubted that you could. Youre stronger than you realize, lady! <3
