Dear Cooper // Week 38

Gosh, this was a huge, huge week for you.  People try to warn you about how quickly time passes but I never got warned about week 38.  The week that you decided to learn how to efficiently go from laying flat on your stomach to sitting up to standing up all in a matter of seconds.  The week you decided that you wanted to practice standing on your own with no help (we're at about ten seconds now!).  The week you decided to start sitting up and standing up in your crib in the middle of the night.  The week you started exploring the house with your scoot.  The week you started actually drinking from your sippy cup instead of biting on it.  The week you started getting really excited about food, grunting and screaming until you have a bite in your mouth.

See? This week has been huge.  I am so amazed.

I am so proud of you.  You are adventurous and I am so excited about that.  I wasn't sure if you would always want to play at my legs or feel comfortable enough to do your own thing too and you are definitely up for exploring on your own (with me right there of course!).  It makes me feel like I am doing things right.  I want you to be confident in yourself and to know at the same time that I am right here for you.  You are so smart.  I look into your eyes and can see that you are always thinking, just like I do!  You are quick and you are daring.  You are going to give me a run for my money!  One of my favorite things about you is that you are sensitive, especially when it comes to me.  I try not to let you see me cry but when you do you lay on my shoulder and it tugs at my heartstrings like no other.

It's been just you and I for about four months now and I'd say we're killing it! You turn nine months old tomorrow, wow!

I love you so much.  I love you more than ever.
