Dear Cooper: 13 Months Old

Cooper James,

I think we've hit the point where every age and stage is going to be my favorite.  You, right now, this is my favorite so far.  You are beyond curious, cautious enough but always trying to stand on top of something, developing your imagination, beginning to play independently, eating all the time, and talking up a storm.

Here are the words you can and do normally say without being prompted: mommy, mom, mama, doggy, cat, giraffe, tiger, lion, roar, book, car, cool, yes, yeah, nanny, kelsy, bubba, ally, no, eww, yuck, nursey, rock, bath, bye bye, wow, truck, weee!, go!, thank you, please, lexi, hi, hey, bird, boo, moo, balloon, ball, reid, baby, hungry, shoe, eat, wow, duck, fish, teeth, hair, uh-oh, bite, more, yeah yeah yeah, quack quack, love you, rain, water, and at this point I'm sure there is more!

Your hair has gotten so blonde and is growing so quickly, a trim of the bangs might be in our near future.  You're wearing size 3 diapers still, 12 month shirts, 9 month pants, and size 4.5 shoes! Your feet finally grew! You love fruit and bread products more than anything, much like your mama.  You pay zero attention to television and love to read your books, especially the ones about animals.  You still take two naps a day and go to bed at 7:15 each night.  We are still nursing and for that I am so thankful!

Last month we drove to New Hampshire and you did great.  You got to see several different states but we spent most of our time in Vermont, New Hampshire, and then Washington D.C. on our way back home.  I never thought you would be a good car traveler, but you are!

You want to be outside all the time.  You say "side, side!" and out we go.

I can't express how much I love you.  There simply are no words.  You are everything I dreamed of and more, a blessing that only God could deliver.  I love you more than ever.

  1. Wow! He can say so many words!! I really want to see a vlog :)

  2. he's so cute! and he has quite a vocabulary!

  3. Oh, he is a handsome one! Can't wait to see more pictures from your big road trip. That is so awesome! Your last post gave me a big lump in my throat. Made me so sad. I wish this wasn't happening, but I know it is. I will pray that Cooper is in good hands when he isn't in yours and for your own peace mind through all of this. Keep being strong!
