Dear Cooper // 18 Months

Cooper J.,

A whole year and a half old! How time the good times fly.  It's hard to believe that we're already half way to two, this mama heart isn't ready for that yet. Sadly, as time does, these next six months will go just as quickly or quicker than the last six did.

You said your first truly full sentence this morning: "Help me I'm stuck!" You tell me you're stuck when you can't figure out how to do something, whether that be trying to get off the bed or stick a puzzle piece in the correct spot.  I think of things all day long that you say that I want to record but then always forget when I finally sit down at my computer.  I need to get better at writing things down as they come to me.

Here's a few:

"Fire hot!", "Candle hot!", "Brr cold outside!", "mommy sleeping? snore!", "cooper color?". "I wanna snack!", "HUNGRY! FOOD!", "ohhh cute!", "see it?"

We're officially in transition from two naps a day to one, it happened over night quite literally.  One day you just decided at 10 am that you weren't tired like you had been over the past year, so I kept you up until 12 and then you slept for 2.5 hours and were good until bedtime at 7.  We've mostly been following that routine since.  Although as I type you're taking a nap and it's only 9:15am, that would be because you decided to wake up at 6 this morning.  Mommy doesn't like that!

You've recently become best friends with Poppy and I fear Mommy and Nanny might come in 2nd and 3rd place very soon! You're favorite people right now are Mommy, Nanny, Poppy, Daddy, Meme, Poppa, Ally, Payton, Eric, Harrison, Kelsy, and Addi.  You're our favorite too, of course!

It looks like you have just about all you're teeth, you're in size 4 diapers, size 12-18 month pants, size 18 month shirts, size 5 shoes, and you weight 24 pounds.  I ordered you a potty this week and let you sit on it for fun, I'm following your queues on this one, sweetie! I also toured the preschool that you're going to be going to starting in August and I am absolutely beyond excited! They have music class, chapel, spanish class, gardening, lots of arts and crafts projects, etc.  It is going to be so wonderful for you!

I can't get over how smart and perfect you are, even when you're screaming at me at the top of your lungs because I'm not moving fast enough.

I love you more than ever!

Mama
xoxo
