in april we went to periodo key, florida with the family we work for, for five days. it was a "working trip" but we mostly just had fun! perdido key itself was pretty boring, as in there was no shops really - no restaurants really - no mini golf - you get it... b o r i n g. thankfully, the beach was beautiful and while the weather wasn't optimal we made the best of it. the sand was so incredibly white and that coupled with running into the water up to his ankles and then back out was all that cooper cared about anyway.
a couple of weeks ago my sister and her fiancé (!!!) flew down for the week and we kicked of their vaycay with a quick long weekend trip to hilton head. the weather was amazing and the resort we stayed at was so nice too. the resorts pool was right on the beach and they had a restaurant and bar steps from the beach as well! we got there on a friday afternoon and spent the rest of that day exploring the resort and checking out the beach. saturday we grabbed breakfast at a little pancake place and then got ready for the beach! cooper and his cousin payton had the best time playing in the sand and we loved just spending time together as a whole family. we got lunch as the beachside restaurant and then hung by the pool. that night we took a quick trip to the outlets and then to get dinner downtown. we had to leave sunday night to be back for work monday but we made the best of the day by starting the day out getting delicious bagels at a local bagel shop and then we all rented biked and took a long bike ride around hilton head, stopping to get ice cream and then heading back to the condo to get ready to spend the rest of the afternoon at the pool and beach. we got found a pizza restaurant with great reviews and decided to try it out and it did not disappoint! their garlic knots were to.die.for. after exploring some of the cute little shops it was time for cooper and i to head back home which we were not happy about! my family stayed that night and then spent the next day exploring savannah before heading home. it was such a much needed family vacation.
a million pictures, sorry!
